Word on the street is that I'm cooking a big baby. My belly has been measuring a couple centimeters ahead of schedule for awhile, so today we had an ultrasound to see if we could learn the cause. Looks like this kiddo has a healthy dose of the Hagen big-baby genes, because the little critter already weighs approximately 4.5 to 5 pounds. We'll have another ultrasound in a month to see if baby's growth is continuing at this pace, and at that point will make a plan to possibly induce labor. (I'm not sure how I feel about this idea, but I'm going to wait and see what happens in the next 4 weeks before fretting too much.) The good news is that it seems likely that we can expect to meet our little guy or gal in 2009!
