Sunday afternoons were particularly fun for Lucy and Brandon this winter and spring when they took a gymnastics class at The Little Gym. Toddler gymnastics...can you say hilarious? Lucy loved talking about her "special" class and she looked forward to spending one-on-one time with Brandon. Her independent streak showed during the group activities when Lucy preferred to do her own thing, whether it was stand in the middle of the circle and watch the other kids, or run as far away from the circle as she could.
She constantly talked about "trying balance beam, trying bars, trying sommersault." And try she did! During the course of the class, she gained in skill and confidence and surprised us with how well she was able to "do self." At the end of the class, all the Beasties (the actual name of the class) got medals, and they even got a group photo with Teacher Steph. Lucy got the added distinction of having the largest entourage in attendance.
