Well, I Lied.

I promised to be back soon after my last post, and it appears that was almost two months ago. But...I don't know if anyone is still reading this to keep me accountable!

I'll catch up first with a post about our last few days of summer. We were busy cramming as many summer activities as possible into our schedule.

We took one last boat ride. Looks fun, right? You can't tell that Jack whined pretty much the entire time. I would too if I had to wear the butt floss life jacket. For some reason big sister thought the floss was pretty cool.

We hit up the Mill City Farmer's Market one last time. Lucy chose the flowers, which might be one of the best bargains ever at only $5! Jack still loved riding in the backpack, especially since he can grab Daddy's hat. I am quite teary thinking that our little guy will be too big for the backpack next summer.

We took Nana and Papa for a ride on the Wayzata Trolley. Lucy cuddled up with Nana, and Jack did some relaxing with Papa.

After the trolley, we hit up McDonald's, where Jack showed us his love for ketchup. He also showed off a couple of his new words: Yes and No.

We loaded up the double stroller to hit the Great Minnesota Get-Together. We visited the baby farm animals, played on tractors, and rode the carousel and the giant slide. We weren't sure if Lucy or Papa was going to tire out first from the long climb up to the top of the slide. Jack Buddy got in on the slide action, too, and both kiddies grinned ear-to-ear the entire time! Next year I'll bring a better camera to capture the riders but at least their first slide ride is documented.

The last stop on our Summer 2011 Finale was a trip to Como Zoo, followed by a stop at Minnehaha Falls and lunch at Sea Salt. This was the first zoo trip where Jack seemed to notice the animals, and I was surprised to see that he was most excited about the giraffes. Not the lions, or seals, or gorillas, but the giraffes!

Lucy showed off a few of her favorite faces too.
