My due date is another week closer! Today brought another weekly check-up with the doctor. Baby Hopkins is still growing up a storm and likely weighs 7 or 7.5 pounds right now. The doctor predicts that baby will be somewhere in the 8-pound range when born, possibly up to 9 pounds depending when he or she arrives. These are just educated guesses, so who knows what will happen. I think the doc gave herself a wide range to cover her bases!
The downside to my visit today was learning that I tested positive for Group B Strep, which can be passed to the baby during delivery. Apparently it's not a big deal, but to prevent the risk of infection I'll have to get antibiotics during labor.
Things are progressing, but we have no reason to suspect the baby's arrival is imminent. Stay tuned for another update next week...
